1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using Moderate, you agree to these terms. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Moderate is developed by Aleksandra Komagorkina ("Developer", "we").
2. What the App Is
Moderate is a drink tracker. It logs the drinks you enter, estimates how much alcohol is still in your system from them, and shows your drinking alongside health signals from Apple Health, so you can stay aware of your patterns and see how drinking affects you.
Moderate is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Its figures are estimates from the information you enter and published research, not measurements, and many individual factors affect them. Never use them to decide whether it is safe or legal to drive or operate machinery. When in doubt, do not drive. Moderate is not designed to diagnose or treat alcohol use disorder (AUD); if you are concerned about your drinking, talk to a healthcare professional, or see Understanding Alcohol Use Disorder (NIAAA).
3. Who Can Use It
Moderate is for adults of legal drinking age in their country.
4. Use of the App
Moderate is for your personal, non-commercial use. Do not reverse engineer it or build derivative works from it.
5. Written Insights
Where your device supports Apple Intelligence, Moderate can write a short summary of your patterns. The text is generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate; the figures it describes are the ones shown in the app.
6. Subscriptions
Moderate is free to download. Logging, the estimate, the calendar and the Day view are free. Moderate Pro adds week, month, year and custom analytics, the guideline assessment, health findings and written insights.
- Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you subscribe.
- Manage or cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple.
7. Intellectual Property
The app and its content belong to the Developer. Your data belongs to you.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Moderate is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee any particular outcome from using it.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Moderate, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms. The effective date above changes when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
11. Termination
You can stop using Moderate and delete your data at any time (see Deleting Your Data below). We may suspend access if these terms are broken.

Privacy Policy
In short: everything Moderate does with your data happens on your iPhone. We don't run a server that receives any of it, and we don't use analytics, ads or tracking. The only outside service the app talks to is RevenueCat, to check whether you have Pro.
1. What You Enter
Stored on your device only:
- Drinks: what, how much, when, and any notes
- How you felt: the mood, symptoms and notes you record for a day
- Your profile: weight, height, age, sex at birth, region and units, used to calculate estimates
- Breath tests: readings you add from your own breathalyzer, used to tune the estimate to you
There is no account. Exporting your history is something you start yourself, and the file goes only where you choose to share it.
2. Apple Health (optional)
With your permission, Moderate reads sex and date of birth, weight, height, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, active energy, steps, dietary energy, sleep and breath test readings saved by breathalyzer apps, to personalise estimates and show how drinking relates to your sleep, heart and activity.
It writes two things: the number of alcoholic beverages you log, and any breath test readings you add, so Health and the apps you trust with it see an accurate figure.
Health data is processed on your device and is never transmitted, sold or used for advertising. You can change access at any time in the Health app or in Settings.
3. Apple Intelligence
Written insights are generated by Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent to us or to Apple to produce them.
4. Widgets and Live Activities
Widgets and the Live Activity show your estimate and today's totals on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, where anyone who can see your phone can read them. Remove widgets or turn off Live Activities in Settings at any time.
5. Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. To check whether you have Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase history and basic device and app details. It receives nothing about your drinks, your health or who you are. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. What We Don't Do
No ads, no analytics SDK, no tracking, no data brokers, and no selling of data.
7. Deleting Your Data
Deleting the app removes everything Moderate stored on your device. Drinks and breath test readings it wrote to Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app. To have your RevenueCat purchase record deleted, email us and we will request it within 30 days.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because your data stays on your device, you control nearly all of it directly in the app and in Settings; for anything else, email us.
9. Support Emails
If you write to us, we see your email address and message so we can reply. Support emails are deleted on request.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above changes when we do.
